Is GRE/GMAT mandatory for someone staying in US from 10+ years with an international bachelors and masters degree?
Crystal Reed
21:37
Hi Hema, That is a great question! We do offer waiver consideration. I encourage you to reach out to us at mac_info@unc.edu to get more information about your specific situation!
Morgan
22:33
Hi crystal! I am coming with a bachelors in liberal arts. Are there any pre-reqs that need to be taken in order to be accepted into the program?
Hannah Sherry
24:22
How flexible are the tracks for completing the degree? For example if someone was to start on a 12 month track and realize after a semester they needed to switch to a 24 month track.
Gongtao Sun
25:30
@hannah course loads and tracks are very flexible, I am enrolled with a two year old
Crystal Reed
25:56
Hi Morgan! here are NO prerequisite courses for the UNC Master of Accounting Program. Everything you need to be successful in our program, in the accounting profession and in the business world, is built into our curriculum.
Isidro Alfaro
26:14
Are post baccalaureate courses taken into consideration as part of undergrad gpa? These courses fall under the finance and accounting spectrum.
Dave Jackson
26:52
Congratulations, Nick!
Crystal Reed
27:41
Hi Isidro! We consider all undergraduate and graduate coursework when evaluating your application!
Emma Z.
27:47
Is this only a graduate opportunity? Or can undergrads also apply?
Crystal Reed
27:49
Congratulations Nick!
Melody Zhuo
27:56
Congrats Nick!
Crystal Reed
28:44
Hi Emma, this is a graduate program opportunity only! You must first obtain your bachelors degree before you can apply to our program.
Maggie Mockbee
31:01
I'm unclear on the 12 credits component.
Ilma Shaikh
31:18
I have already taken a few accounting classes. How do you credit for that?
Dave Jackson
31:27
@Maggie - If you have more than 12 accounting credits, you can only apply to the Online format.
Crystal Reed
31:45
Hi Maggie, I am happy to explain this in detail offline. Please email us at mac_info@unc.edu!
Hema Kanamarlapudi
33:12
What type of job opportunities exists post this course if no prior job experience in any field?
Sierra Foster
34:51
Hello! What percentage of UNC Undergraduates that apply to this program get accepted? And the percentage for specifically getting accepted into the in-person program? Thank you!
Crystal Reed
34:54
@Ilma, any accounting courses that you've taken will be counted to determine whether or not you meet the 12 credit hour or less coursework limit if you wish to be considered for our on-campus format. If you wish you be considered for our online format, there is a potential to be considered for course waivers.
Crystal Reed
36:06
@stephanie, feel free to click here to learn more about our tuition and fees breakdown by format: https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/master-of-accounting/admissions/tuition-and-fees/

@stephanie, The UNC Master of Accounting Program provides fellowship awards to highly qualified students enrolled in either the online or on-campus format. These fellowships are funded by endowments, friends of UNC Kenan-Flagler, and public accounting firms and corporations. While the majority of these fellowships are merit-based, our program is one of the few graduate programs that allocates a certain percentage of fellowship awards for undergraduate Pell grant recipients.Admitted students are automatically considered for these awards; a separate application is not required. Over the past two years, the MAC program has awarded fellowships to more than two-thirds of its students. The average range for a fellowship is $3000 to $6000, and many awards exceed $10,000. As fellowship funds are limited, you are encouraged to apply to the program as early as possible to give yourself the best chance to secure an award. Most fellowships are disbursed soon after the priority deadline.

Hi everybody!
Maggie Mockbee
38:22
I can see it
Crystal Reed
38:59
@Stephanie, The UNC MAC program is rigorous, with a curriculum designed to teach critical accounting skills and reinforce the knowledge needed to excel on the CPA exam.

Sierra Foster
48:33
Is there a limit to the number of students in each concentration?
Crystal Reed
49:44
@Hema to further expand on our question about not having prior experience in any field, our structured recruiting process affords opportunities for individuals with little to no accounting experience seeking entry-level accounting positions with the opportunity to showcase their leadership abilities and soft skills to potential employers. Employers will train their newcomers on everything they need to know to be successful!
Isidro Alfaro
49:44
What are the recruiting opportunities for online students, specifically those that are out of state?
Crystal Reed
49:56
@Sierra, No, there isn't!
Nhung Nguyen
50:37
Hello, for those of us who have a decent UNC undergraduate GPA, is it still beneficial to take the GMAT to aid the admission committee in making admission decisions?
Crystal Reed
50:57
@Isidro, Students are able to indicate their interest in working in specific markets when they are navigating through the structured recruiting process. You would be able to list your top 2-3 cities/states that you would most like to work in.
Crystal Reed
52:34
@Isidro, with respect to the traditional assisted job search process, you would work with our career services team to formulate a plan to identify opportunities that may be best suited for what you are looking to do in your career!
Crystal Reed
53:36
@Nhung, that is at the applicants discretion. We take a holistic review of each applicants application and will consider all information that is provided to us!
Sierra Foster
54:51
Is there a way to get access to these slides so we can reference them later?
Nhung Nguyen
54:59
Thank you.
Morgan
55:13
